By Mike Jolly on November 3, 2021

DCMiketv.com recently caught up with Boxing Promoter Shabazz Bryant as he discuss his upcoming card on Saturday, November 6 Headlined by Baltmore's undefeated future boxing champ Lorenzo "Truck" Simpson as he takes on Mexico's Luis Solis. Check out what he had to say!!

Michael J: Hi you doing Shabazz, I hope all is well. It's been about 2 years since you've promoted a card in the DMV area, has COVID played a major part in that not happening?

Shabazz B: Hey Mike I'm Blessed. You know COVID really ha d a big impact on the sports world..especially  independent promoters. It's just wasn't a wide decision to attempt to have a show during that time..but our main priority of course is Lorenzo Simpson...and he actually stayed pretty busy fighting on several different platforms.

This show is just a soft comback basically to stay busy.

Michael J: Okay, I know some people know about dealing with the Maryland Commissioner Pat, What was it like working with him this time around?

Shabazz B: It's always a challenge and difficult. That's a issue that really needs to be addressed.

Michael J: Lorenzo Simpson headlining this Saturday at the Patapsco Arena in Baltimore, MD against head hitting Luis Solis, What can you tell us about this matchup?

Shabazz B: This is gonna be a tough fight..Solis is tough, a lot of experience and comes to fight...this guy ha s a lot of professional experience. Its gonna be a test for "Truck". But those are the fights he (Truck) wants. He doesnt like to fight bums, he lives for the challenge and we believe in him 100 percent.

The people wont be disappointed Truck is gonna put on a spectacular performance.

Michael J: Absolutely. Truck s  a future world champion for sure, he sells a bot load of tickets, What will it feel like in the future to see him become Middleweight champion of the world and you were the one that started him off?

Shabazz B: Well you genuinely have a lot of love for "Truck" watching him grow and develop. I been a fan of his first time I saw him in the ring. I knew he was special. And I will always support him. But, I cant take credit for getting him started. I would have to give credit to my partner and Truck uncle Raheem.

Michael J: Okay understood Can you talk about some of the fighters that are on the undercard?

Shabazz B: We have Hasim Rahman Jr. fight a tough opponent 6-2. We also have Muhsin Cason also taking a step up fight against very crafty and skilled Lamont Capers. Darren Cunningham comng off a candidate of the year fight in an action pack loss in Atlanta.

Michael J: Any words to the boxing fans in closing?

Shabazz B: If they didnt get there tickets hurry up and get them. Link is in Truck bio https://xquizit-sports.ticketleap.com Its only 5 fights so get there early and again I thank you and everyone for the support.

And we have to do something about this commissioner, its time for a change.
